The project is located near the city of San Jose, the capital and largest city of Costa Rica, and also the capital of the Province of San José. The town is located in the center of the country. The land is on a mountainous topography, with dense vegetation, its length being oriented in the North-South direction. The location of the house on the land has the objective of connecting architecture with nature, being right on the border of a nature reserve.
The shape of the house is introverted, trying to create as many intimate spaces as possible compared to the neighbors, but at the same time, the airy compartmentalization together with the large glazed spaces let nature and light penetrate inside. The architecture refers to the Barcelona pavilion, created by Mies van der Rohe, through the diaphragms plated with travertine, which mask the living area and on which the volume of the floor is supported. The dominant finish is teak wood, which creates an organic link between nature and architectural elements. The house is arranged on two levels, on the ground floor there is the living area, the main terrace, the technical spaces, and a guest bedroom, and on the first floor, there are 3 bedrooms, an office, a hobby room, and the second terrace.
This composition has a direct relationship, both with nature and with the urban space, offering various possibilities depending on the preferences and mood of the user.
